National Engineering Research and Development Centre (NERDC) of Sri Lanka is the premier engineering R&D organization in Sri Lanka, engaging with multidisciplinary innovations and, R & D activities in engineering for more than four decades.

National Engineering Research Symposium (NERS) is the annual research conference conducted by NERDC, since the year 2014, in parallel to the “National Science Week published by the government. The main objectives of this symposium are to promenade expert Research, Inventors, and Developers’ outcomes, and popular those among the interesting sectors/communities to the benefit of the country and update the lifestyles of the people. With the sudden created economic crisis in the country, this is the appropriate time and also the prime duty of the engineers, scientists, economists etc. to drive the nation through expert solutions for self-reliance in Sri Lanka. By focusing to alleviate the inconveniences made due to the current crisis, this symposium will be conducted in 2022 as “NERS 2022” with the theme“Driving the nation through engineering solutions for self-reliance”. NERDC invites all dynamic researchers to publish their research on NERS 2022.
